What is a home contents insurance?

Contents insurance provides cover for all free-standing items in and around your home for damage and theft. These are the items that are not attached within or to your home. You may, without realising it, have many items of great value in your home. For example, your furniture, art, clothes, television or household appliances.

To protect these valuable possessions, Aon’s contents insurance offers good cover at an attractive premium. Good to know: you can also insure the contents of your second home or holiday home holiday home with us.

Insuring valuables outside the home

Valuables are insured within the home as standard. With this option you are insured all over the world in case of damage, theft or loss of your valuables. This includes, for example, jewellery, art or your golf equipment as well as borrowed or hired medical devices. You can choose from three insured amounts: € 7,500, € 15,000 or € 25,000.

The valuables coverage does not apply to damage caused to valuables borrowed, rented, lent or rented our, nor does it apply if you do not take sufficient precautions to prevent damage or theft.

Standard Aon Cyber Help with your home contents insurance

The Aon Cyber Help provides help in cyber incidents such as your files being hacked, identity theft or viruses that take your computer hostage.

If you have a cyber incident, you can contact the Cyber Helpline 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Expert staff help you find a solution. They also help engage and alert the right companies and authorities. For example the police, your bank and your credit card company.

What will we do for you if you sustain damage?

Needless to say, sustaining damage is a distressing experience. We are happy to help. It is important that you report the damage as soon as possible. To report damage quickly and easily and view your status, log into My Zone. If this doesn’t work, please check our Help with logging in page.

Reporting damage

Report the damage online in My Environment and be sure to provide all information.

Step 2

Processing damage

Is your claim file complete? If so, we will process your claim within three working days.

Step 3

Completed

When you receive notification that you are entitled to compensation, we will transfer this amount to you within ten working days
