Glass insurance included in home insurance: what is insured?

Our additional glass insurance provides coverage for all the glass in your home. Not only glass in your windows, but the glass over paintings and in your cabinets are also all covered by this insurance.

What is reimbursed with glass insurance?

In the event of glass damage, we reimburse:

  • Costs you incur for temporary measures: e.g. gluing breakages;
  • Cost of new glass;
  • Costs of installing new glass.

What is not covered by glass insurance?

There are some cases in which damage to glass is not insured. This includes:

  • Damage that occurs during a home renovation;
  • Damage that occurs if your home is unoccupied for an extended period of time.

Glass insurance in a rented home

If you rent a house, you do not need home insurance. The owner is responsible for insuring their property and glass insurance is often included in that. Is that not true in your case? Then you can also insure glass in your home through your own home contents insurance.
