What does the recreational equipment insurance cover?
What is insured?
- You are insured for any external calamity. This is an unexpected and unforeseen event that has nothing to do with the nature or quality of your recreational equipment. An external calamity is, for example, fire, damage (other than damage due to normal use) or theft.
- In the first year, in the event of theft or total loss, a compensation based on the replacement value up to a maximum of the insured amount stated on the policy. If your recreational equipment is damaged but not total loss, we will reimburse the repair costs.
What is not insured?
- Damage caused by a crime in which you participate, if you are influenced by alcohol or drugs, while exercising your profession, business or paid position, while renting out recreational equipment, or in case of insufficient care and/or maintenance.
- Wear and tear due to use, inherent defect, incompetent repair, short circuits, parts of your winter sports equipment (such as only ski poles), leakage of batteries, theft from your car or transport if there are no signs of break-in or if your recreational equipment was visible.
